Breaking Out of Environmental Illness, which was published by Bear & Company in 1997, is an autobiographical account of our experience of developing and healing Environmental Illness, which is an increasingly common, often debilitating condition involving heightened sensitivity to physical, olfactory, and sometimes auditory stimuli. Environmental Illness is viewed by many as incurable.
Breaking Out of Environmental Illness is the true story of our consciousness expanding journey from bodies gone haywire to the realization of our own creative potential. It was a Shaman's journey that pushed us to our physical, mental and emotional limits, forcing us to re-evaluate and restructure our understandings about individual creation of health and disease.
When western medicine was unable to provide an explanation for Patricia's deteriorating health, she turned to alternative therapies, which provided relief, but also demanded an impossible life style that became a full time job itself. Along the way, she met Robert, a sensitive, intuitive doctor, well educated in both western and alternative therapies, and devoted to helping others.
The book is told from Robert's perspective, and recounts our wild ride through a devastating illness that ultimately taught us about the true nature of health and disease, and personal power.
